About DC Cleaners

Meet Maricarmen Velazquez! Maricarmen has been in the cleaning service industry for over 20 years, and Maricarmen is a master of all things spick and span. After moving from Mexico, where she studied ECE (Early Childhood Education) as well as Business, to Canada, Maricarmen started her cleaning career as a Nanny. Maricarmen saw families struggling with the available cleaning services in the area, usually due to their expensive rates, and unreliable booking services. She saw those who worked full time, with kids, with lots of expenses to worry about, needing her help the most. So she decided she could help out!  That’s how DC Cleaners was born, she began a community-based cleaning service that aligned with the families and values of the community she loves. For Maricarmen, her love of cleaning and organizing her own home keeps her motivated to continuously serve the amazing North Shore community. 

 

Maricarmen has also serviced her community by bringing in those from many different cultural backgrounds into her service. She understands that it is important to know the people that you work with and it is important to understand the cultures of those she is bringing into her service. Maricarmen is happy to have helped hundreds of immigrants from different countries, including her own home country of Mexico, by providing them a space to earn some money for school and providing them with a like-minded community to make their transitions into the country more peaceful and welcoming. Maricarmen loves to be a part of success stories and understands that nothing is better than working hard and giving back to her community. 

 

When Maricarmen is not taking care of homes across the North Shore, she enjoys traveling and eating international cuisines such as Persian, Greek, and Indian Food. Maricarmen loves to dance and travel around British Columbia with her two dogs and friends.
